Today during class for humanities we worked on selecting a charity and sending them a letter asking them questions about there charity. The questions that we asked was what percentage of revenue goes directly towards the Congo, and we also asked them how they use there money to make change. The charity which we are primarily focused on was war child however we couldn't use that charity because it donates to multiple countries. The charity called war child was a charity devoted to helping aid the people of Congo and to also set up emergency relief centers around the country. So after we found out that we couldn't use that charity so we found a different charity. The charity that we found was devoted to helping place water in those places. We believe in this charity because we think that the Congo needs this in order to become a better and more accomplished country. In an email to that organization we wrote the same questions as the email to war child, as well as the question do you serve any other countries other than the Congo because we wanted to make sure that all our profits from the fundraiser goes to the Congo.
We believe that this charity is the right choice because the Congo is suffering a lot from malnutrition. Another reason why this charity is a very good idea is because it offers great opportunity for the Congo as well as the people living there by giving them a better chance for survival. In the Congo 1/6 children die from either dirty water or a water related sickness such as diarrhea. Another reason why we think that this charity is a good idea is because you are able to donate directly to the Congo unlike some charities which distribute the money they receive from donations evenly among all the countries.
