Cooking field trip blog

Today we went to Kapiolani community collage and we learned to cook even more different types of dishes those dishes were all part of different cuisines for example the chicken tostadas was a Mexican inspired dish and the chicken Parmesan was a french inspired dish. We also had a trial run for creating polenta which is an Italian dish however we are preparing it as an American dish. I like liked how my group worked together today I also liked how we were each able to finish our tasks with ought making too many mistakes. For example we were all able to communicate and while we were at our specific stations we yelled out what we were doing to each other. Our tasks were divided according to what we are cooking in our final recipe for example liam was cooking the polenta because in our final he is responsible for cooking the polenta.

While I think that we worked really well as a team I think that there were some things we could have improved upon. Some things we could have improved upon was cleaning up while we were cooking. The reason why I think we need to improve upon this was because some group members were standing around doing nothing once there job was done. I was also standing around occasionally. I noticed myself standing around watching Liam cook polenta rather than cleaning up the kitchen which I could have done. I also need to learn to trust my teammates more because I wasn't able to clean because I was constantly afraid that someone was going to burn something or incorrectly follow the recipe.

I plan on improving upon in these causalities by learning to let go and by trusting my teammates more. I think that I need to give my teammates harder jobs and let them work on their own while I also work on my own job. I have noticed myself hanging around and asking them what there doing.

I liked going to KCC and am saddened by knowing that I can't go to KCC and cook there next year.
