STEM sustainability-b august 27
Even though on the first blog about sustainability I said that Sustainability Is key to survival we need it to live with all of our fossile fules, food and other items that is esentual to survival. We need sustainability more then ever because our conservation efforts are very horrible. I personaly think that we should better our efforts for making our life sustainable. I still believe that we need to work harder as a whole to make that dream a reality even though I saw h-power which is the one partin the island the boostes sustainability I still think that we are not living sustainable because I think that we need to find a way to be sustainibley with our oil, gas, and coal. The reason we need to Be , more sustainable is because those resources are all predicted to run out the last resource to run out in 2081 even those they regenerate them self, however they regenerate themselves once every millionse of years. I believe that h- power is the one thing on this island that is helping us be more sustainable.
My dad told me that they think that sustainability is needed if we want to enjoy the same luxuries we enjoy now in every day life which includes driving cars eating some types off food. My dad also thinkes that America needs to be more sustainable because if you compare us to other contries we are not sustainabley growing and reproducing because most of our items that we make are going to different countries 66%. My father still thinkes that however he believes that we are making an effort to be more sustainable. He likes h-power and what they do for this island.

Humanities august 26 peer assessing
Peer feed back is very important because you are able to receive what other people think of your work and this is good because it allowed you to learn about what other people think of your work and they all have different perspectives of your work. I also think that is important because it allowed you to improve in your project. Peer feed back can also be kind and that could help you boost your confidence.
I learned how I can improve my project aesthetically for example how I can improve the flame in the project by adding more color at the bottom such as blue. My peeres also told me that I should shorten my captiones because the way that my captiones are now it distracted from the drawings because they are big and bulky. One more thing that I lerarned is from peer feedback that one of my peeres gave to another peer was that if you have a black backround it makes some dark colors stand out
All of the feed back that I recived was important however some of the feed back was a little more important. One of the more important pieces of feed back that I have recived was that I have to shorten my captiones so that it wouldn't be to long. Another important piece of information that I learned from peer feedback was that I should use black in my backround so it would be more aesthetically pleasing.
2 thinges that I would do the next time we go and give peer feedback is I would try to be a more attentive listener when they are presenting their work for example I would try to focus more on the person and less on the backround. Another thing that I would do to become a better peer assessor is I would try to give better feed back.

August 21, Both in what way is h-power contributing to sustainability?
I believe that H-power is contributing to the sustainability on this island because it is taking out trash from the island and it is making the Oahu islanders more sustainable. I believe that what they do at the power plant is helpful to the people living on the island because they use the trash burn it and use the excess heat to make electricity that powers 5 percent of the island which is a lot considering the amount of people that live on the island. I also think that when they burn the trash it is better than just throwing it in the landfill because when it's in the landfill they produce methane and that gas is much more harmful to the environment than carbon dioxide and the plant produces carbon dioxide from the trash after it's been burned. One more reason why landfills are bad is because landfills don't put anything back into the island however h-power does. H-power putts electricity back into the island it produces electricity by using the heat that was used and it takes the heat from the steam and creates electricity.
I also think that h-power also putts jobs in the islands and that is really god for the economy. H-power offers a lot to the islands by offering jobs, electricity, and helps the atmosphere because it reduces the amount of methane that goes in the atmosphere and it replaces it with carbon dioxide which is a lot safer for the atmosphere and is less harmful to plants and other things that are affected by methane gas. So I think that h-power is one of the most important places in the island and if something would happen to it that would be very bad for the island

Trash
Today we had to dig through the trash and we had to see if our way of life is sustainable and as I was looking through the trash I was shocked at how many plastic bottles in the trash rather than in a recycling bin. While I was looking at how many plastic bottles were in the trash I also noticed that there were so many different types of recyclables such as milk, and POG cartons. I was shocked at how we as a hole have done so bad and threw away so many recyclables along with our trash. I am even more shocked because around most of the trash cans there are rescaling bins to throw away your plastic bottles.
I also think that all the plastic bottles that were found could be rescaled and there was around 30 plastic bottles that were in that area. There were 30 bottles and 30 bottles means about a dollar and 50 cents.
There were also some plastic forks and paper goods that I found in the big pile of trash and those items are all recyclable. I am also glad to say that all of the plastic bottles and aluminum cans were all recycled.
What I learned from this project is that we are not living sustainable and/or responsible because we need to burn all of our trash and after we burn it all they become ashes even though that is minimum then they still occupy space and take up room.
One way to live a better and more responsible life is to recycle all of your aluminum bottles and plastic cans also another way is to conserve your trash like use hole napkins and use some food as compost for your plants. So there are many ways we can live more responsible however we don't do them.
STEM H-power
Another question that I would ask is what is the most difficult type of trash to burn is there some types of trash that leaves the most amount of ashes and are there ways to deal with those items that can relive and let there be more space in the plant?
I also want to know how much fuel they use in a week to see if they are doing anything good for our chance to prolong our future of oil and are they trying to use less oil?

Sustainability Stem
My parents think that sustainability is needed if we want to enjoy the same luxuries we enjoy now in every day life which includes driving cars eating some types off food. My dad also thinkes that America needs to be more sustainable because if you compare us to other contries we are not sustainabley growing and reproducing because most of our items that we make are going to different countries 66%.
We might not be sustainable but our farmers are working hard and producing 262 percent more food with 2 percent less items. However 1/3 of our planets are staing on the main land and the others is going to other countries. So our farmerees are doing as much work as they possible can.(http://www.fb.org/index.php?fuseaction=newsroom.fastfacts)
I think that we need to find a way to be sustainibley with our oil, gas, and coal. The reason we need to Be sustainable is because those resources are all predicted to run out the last resource to run out in 2081 even those they regenerate them self, however they regenerate themselves once every millionse of years.

Humanities conservation
How can we conserve and attempt to allow the further generations to enjoy the same luxuries that we enjoy today such as lessing the amount of time we spend driving to a place were you can walk to or ride a bike to also another way we can conserve gas is to switch out our cars to hybrid cars. Some ways you can conserve the amount of oil you use is to change out your standard incandescent light bulbs for compact fluorescent light bulbs, unplug your electrical items when you leave the house for example when you aren't charging your phones unplug them from the outlets. So conserve for younger generations.
